Sussex Eco Awards
The brainchild of award-winning environmental journalist Sarah Lewis-Hammond and awarded annually, The Sussex Eco Awards are a celebration of people all over Sussex who are working hard towards a greener, fairer, better world.
A total of eight winners are selected from an average of over 600 entries in categories ranging from green business and green school to foodie of the year and young environmentalist.
On the occasion that Firefly Solar were voted 'Green Business of the Year', the winners were chosen by an expert panel of judges featuring Thurstan Crocket, head of sustainability at Brighton and Hove City Council, Simon Bottrell, founder of 7 Creative sustainable communication agency, Nigel Flynn, head of education for the Sussex Wildlife Trust and Lisa Ruitherford, media campaigner for Oxfam.
Here's what the judges had to say of Firefly: "they've broken through and are having a major influence, well beyond Pride and the city. Ethically sound, inventive, technically brilliant, internationalist, passionate. The epitome of a Brighton business for the 21st century everyone in the city and beyond can be proud of."
