Renault ZE Press Test Day

Electric vehicles have been around in various guises for a number of years; it is Renault, however, who heralded their game changing plans when they announced that:

“Renault aims to become the first full-range car manufacturer to market zero-emission vehicles in use, available to the greatest number. Electric cars emit no CO2 in use.” (www.renault.com)

As part of this zero emission motoring strategy, Renault took to the roads of Britain last November with a fleet of brand new Renault Kangoo Z.E vans to introduce them to the motoring press.

It was at the sixth and final date of the road show that the Firefly Team were invited to provide the sustainable source of power to charge the Kangoo Z.E fleet.

A combination of two Orion and two Cygnus Solar Generators provided a 20kVA solar supply. This was enough power to fully charge two vehicles overnight and top-up vehicles from the test fleet when required throughout the day.
