Firefly Support 10:10 Solar Schools Launch
Firefly teamed up with carbon cutting organisation 10:10, to deliver the launch of their Solar Schools campaign. Firefly provided products and equipment to demonstrate the abilities of solar technology to teachers and pupils of Battle Primary School, Reading.
The Solar Schools project aims to encourage schools to generate their own electricity through solar installations with panels purchased through funds raised by the local community. Once installed, a good-sized solar system can earn a school around £4000 every year for 25 years in energy savings and income from the Feed-in Tariff, all of which can be ploughed back into teaching, school facilities and equipment or further energy-saving green initiatives.
