Under the British Governments “Feed-in Tariff Scheme” (FITs) for microgeneration, it is now possible to generate a healthy income by installing solar PV modules on your roof.
For every Kilowatt produced by a domestic solar installation a customer on the FIT scheme will receive 43.3p. This figure is index linked to inflation and guaranteed for 25 years.
In addition to this, any surplus electricity generated by a domestic installation that is not used, is sold back to the national grid for an additional premium.
This represents a fantastic return on the initial investment used to pay for the system.
